Rock Island County, Illinois

Rock Island County is in northwest Illinois. It is named for Rock Island, an island on the Mississippi River, now known as Arsenal Island.
The seat and largest city is Rock Island. This is where the Rock River has the confluence with the Mississippi River.
It is served by the Iowa Interstate Railroad and BNSF railroad, both having mainlines through the town.
It is also served by Interstates 74, 80, 88 and 280 as well as US Highways 6, 67 and 150.
It is bordered by Clinton, Louisa, Muscatine and Scott Counties in Iowa, and Whiteside, Henry and Mercer Counties in Illinois.
